About Us

The Canadian Families And Corrections Network (CFCN) is a dedicated non-profit organization based in Kingston, Ontario, committed to supporting families affected by the incarceration of a loved one. Established with a mission to bridge the gap between families and the corrections system, CFCN provides resources, advocacy, and emotional support to help families navigate the challenges of having a family member in prison. Our work focuses on fostering understanding, reducing stigma, and promoting positive reintegration into society for both the incarcerated individuals and their families.

At CFCN, we understand the profound impact that incarceration can have on families, including emotional stress, financial burdens, and social isolation. Our programs and services are designed to address these challenges by offering a safe space for families to connect, share experiences, and access vital information. We provide educational resources about the corrections system, facilitate support groups, and advocate for policies that consider the needs of families during and after incarceration. Our goal is to empower families with the tools and knowledge they need to cope and thrive despite the difficulties they face.

One of our core initiatives is to create a network of support across Canada, linking families with community resources and providing a platform for their voices to be heard. We collaborate with corrections facilities, government agencies, and other non-profit organizations to ensure that the unique needs of families are recognized and addressed. CFCN also offers workshops and training sessions to help families understand their rights and the processes within the corrections system, while also working to reduce the barriers that often prevent meaningful family connections during incarceration.

Located at 1036 Princess St, Kingston, ON, CFCN is deeply rooted in the community and strives to make a lasting impact on the lives of those we serve. We believe that strong family connections play a crucial role in the successful reintegration of individuals after incarceration, contributing to safer communities and reducing recidivism. Our compassionate team is dedicated to walking alongside families, offering hope and practical assistance every step of the way.
